About Neck Lifts
A saggy neck can be the result of several different factors, but it doesn’t have to be accepted once a patient decides to have neck lift surgery. This highly transformative surgery can take a patient from a “turkey neck” to the sleek and slimmer profile he or she desires. Houston, TX double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Anthony E. Brissett, performs this surgery for patients with extraneous skin in the neck area. In the process, Dr. Brissett can address lines and wrinkles in this region, as well. A neck lift, on its own, can produce powerful results, but these results can be fully maximized with neck liposuction to remove fat or a facelift surgery.

"amazing doctor - "if dr. brissett can't fix it, than nobody can"! - I can't even begin to say what an amazing doctor Dr. Brissett is. After several unsuccessful surgeries to fix my breathing problems, I was referred to Dr. Brissett, and I was told that "if Dr. Brissett can't fix it, then nobody can"! After meeting with Dr. Brissett, he expressed his concerns of the condition my nasal passages were in after several failed surgeries, but he also knew how..."- C. / RealSelf / Jul 23, 2018
"All of the comments said about Dr. Brissett are so true and more. I could go on for hours about Dr. Brissett. One very important distinguish criteria having to do with his practice is his staff. Having been married to the medical community I’ve had the opportunity to interact with a wide range medical staff and the staff will many times make or break even the best physicians. Andrea, Regina, Rachel and Roxana are not only personable and knowledgeable but they genuinely care about the patients. I hate to tell you how many years I’ve seen Dr. Brissett but he has almost 0 turn over during the time I have known him and I can totally understand why. Houston does have great doctors but they’re not as accessible/understanding of their patients needs/ etc. if The staff is not good."- M.F. / Google / Jul 19, 2018

What to Expect
Neck lift surgery is outpatient and performed at an accredited surgical facility. The patient will be under general anesthesia during the procedure. The plastic surgeon will start off by making an incision under the chin or in front of or behind the patient’s ears. When there’s abundant fat in the region, liposuction will be the first step of the surgery to remove this excess fat. The underlying neck muscles will then be pulled tight. Then, the skin will be trimmed and the remaining skin will be re-draped for a tighter, smoother appearance. Stitches, or sutures, are placed deep in the neck wall. The surgeon may also place a drain in the surgical site to control bleeding. The entire surgery typically lasts 2 hours.
Following a neck lift surgery, a patient commonly experiences some amount of bruising and swelling in the neck area. It’s also common for patients to have a sensation of tightness and pulling, which is a result of the neck adjusting into the new position. Typically, patients are able to return to their normal routine, such as work, in around 7 – 10 days. After a few months, a patient should be able to see the full effects of the surgery with a tighter, smoother, more contoured neck. There will be very minimal scarring since the incisions were placed in discreet places.
