I cannot express my gratitude for Dr. Brissett and his entire team in words. The entire process from the initial consultation to my post operative appointments, everything is done professionally and with genuine care. Andrea, Rachel, Regina, Dr. Brissett, and the entire team are all so good at what they do. Choosing Dr. Brissett for my ethnic rhinoplasty was the best decision I've ever made, and I mean that! Despite having what is considered an ethnic nose with super thick skin, I am amazed at my results! I've wanted a rhinoplasty since I was 10 years old, and at 20 I came to Dr. Brissett and finally got what I always wanted. A cute, straight, structured nose, that is fully functional and I can actually breathe better now after surgery! I'm 6 months post-op and I am so blessed and beyond satisfied with my results. A quick story to show how genuinely amazing Dr. Brissett is: My first night home after surgery, my nose and face started hurting like CRAZY, and I was feeling all the pain from the surgery despite taking my prescribed pain medication. I came to realize that the pain medication was not working with my body, and I was in tears from all the pain I was feeling. (WHICH IS A HUGE NO NO because it was making it hurt even more) It was 10:30 at night, but I still called the office, and because the office is connected to the hospital, the hospital staff contacted Dr. Brissett, and within 5 minutes, Dr. Brissett FACETIMED me, and called in the nearest pharmacy so I could get different pain meds! At the time, because of the pandemic, the latest pharmacy was open until 11 pm, and because of my awesome surgeon and his genuine care for his patients, I was able to get my pain meds within minutes, and the pain totally went away. Recovery was so smooth. It was completely painless, and all my post-op appointments so far have been so amazing, because the entire staff has become like family to me. These are genuine, warm people who are passionate about helping others feel confident , and if you're looking for a surgeon who is a master at his craft, and also has a heart of gold, Dr Brissett is your guy! 11/10 recommend

After consulting with several doctors, I chose him because he focused on enhancing my features while keeping my natural African-American features intact. He was knowledgeable, kind, and took the time to answer all my questions, which made it easier to trust the process and manage my expectations. Dr. Brissett and his team, including Regina Jones and Andrea Farrar, provided exceptional pre- and post-care, and everything turned out exactly as he promised. I’m now six months post-surgery, and my friend still can’t believe how great of a job he did. And keep in mind, I’m not even fully healed yet! My confidence in photos and public settings has soared, and if I had to do it all over again, I’d go right back to him. Highly recommend him to anyone considering rhinoplasty!

What To Expect During Ethnic Rhinoplasty
Since ethnic rhinoplasty involves special consideration to an ethnic background, along with performing an already complex surgery (rhinoplasty), extra care is taken to provide desired aesthetic outcomes with natural, realistic results. Since the nasal structures vary from ethnicity to ethnicity, specialized techniques will be used for different groups.
African American
With African American nose surgery, increased width and lack of definition and projection are usually the main concerns that are addressed. During surgery, the plastic surgeon will often work to build the dorsal (bridge) height, increase the nasal tissue framework, as well as provide more nasal tip definition and reducing the alar base (narrowing nostrils). The main challenge is getting through the thick skin (skin envelope) to accomplish these goals.
Latino
With Latino noses, the plastic surgeon will often work to narrow and augment the height of the nasal dorsum (area from nasal root to tip), define and increase the projection and rotation of the nasal tip, and reduce nostril size and width. Not only is the Latino nose different from the traditional, Caucasian rhinoplasty, there’s a multitude of ethnic and regional differences in the Latino community that must be addressed with special techniques and skills.
Asian
With Asian nose surgery - sometimes referred to as a nose job for Asian-heritage patients - the goal is usually to augment the nose, especially the tip and bridge, since they tend to be smaller and made of shorter nasal bones. Other issues that are usually addressed during nasal surgery is a depressed bridge, wide nasal tip, thick skin, weak cartilage, and an overly rotated nasal tip. Usually grafts are needed from other body sources or synthetic materials to accomplish these goals.
Middle Eastern
Similar to reasons for Caucasian nose surgery, Middle Eastern noses can have an overly large nasal profile and tip, which need to be reduced to meet aesthetic goals. Middle Eastern noses can also appear to be droopy or have a significant bump. Extra care is taken to reduce the length and reshape the nose and smooth out the bump, while preserving a patient’s ethnic background for a softer, natural look.
How Long Is Recovery from Ethnic Rhinoplasty?
As with any rhinoplasty surgery, there is an extensive recovery process. The patient can expect pain, discomfort, swelling, and bruising after surgery. Pain medication can be used to alleviate pain. There will be multiple follow-up visits to ensure the patient is healing properly and to ensure there are no complications. For several months following surgery, the patient will notice changes in the nose. Full results can take up to 1 year to be achieved. Since every case is different, especially when it comes to different ethnic backgrounds, results will vary widely from patient to patient.
